Two Way Street Coffee House is Chicagoland’s most beloved folk and acoustic music venue, presenting weekly concerts and community events for over 50 years! On Friday, January 24, 2025 Two Way Street Coffee House Friday Night Concert Series presents the Zoom Tribe as part of our Local Artist Showcase.
Zoom Tribe is a group of singers, songwriters and musicians who started zooming once a week during Covid just to keep some music/community/sanity alive. They’re still meeting weekly going on 5 years now and meet every month or so in person. They have played a few live gigs for local charities.
Anne McIntyre, keyboardist who performs original, blues, Americana and folk music. She has her roots in folk music and the blues in her bones. Sure to get your toes tappin’ when she plays boogie-woogie.
Val Leventhal is a veteran eclectic singer/songwriter from the Chicago area who writes and sings about the human condition.
Harmonica player Patrick Reninger is fiery soloist able to channel his passion for the blues into everything from a jazz ballad to a country weeper. Jamming in his teens with bluesmen at the famed Maxwell Street Flea Market on Chicago’s Near West Side, Patrick has performed with country, blues and rock musicians throughout Chicagoland including gigs at the House of Blues, the Chicago Cultural Center and the 1997 Chicago Blues Festival. When beset with melancholy, he performs solo at various subway stops entertaining vermin that congregate along the tracks.
Lance Brown is an artist, actor, musician and song writer. He toured the country for over 25 years with his two one-person shows “Will Rogers Now!” and “Lance Brown’s Somewhat Fractured History of the World Show”.
Barbara Smith is the winner of the 2018 Skokie Idol Contest, Adult Division. She has appeared in shows in Paris, France and in Chicago at Le Piano, Rhapsody Theater, Ephiphany, Davenport’s, Chief O’Neal’s, the Den Theater Lounge, Piano Forte, Skokie Theater and Rosa’s Lounge. Her strong alto voice is well suited to folk, blues, jazz and show tunes.
Cedes Buck began songwriting the last decade of her career as a special educator, singing and writing songs as a therapy tool in the classroom. Her music is eclectic from children’s songs to country to folk and lots in between.
Rick Veras is an accomplished fiddle, mandolin and guitar player who has accompanied Patsy Montana and Rocky Stone (Gene Autry’s fiddle player).
