On Friday, February 20, 2026 Two Way Street Coffee House Friday Night Concert Series presents Terrence Keleher and Port Town as part of our Local Artist Showcase.
Terrence Keleher
Singer/songwriter, Terrence Keleher, has a love for acoustic folk/rock music. You can find Terrence performing in pubs and open mics around the Chicagoland area. Beside playing solo, Terrence plays in several bands including, “Cooler by the Lake” (acoustic folk), “Terrence & Friends” (folk/rock originals and covers), and the “Cook County Rovers” (Irish and bluegrass). You can also find Terrence playing and singing with the Oak Park Farmers Market band, the monthly Music & Potluck’s “Acoustic Neighbors” folk jams, and local singalong sessions. Terrence has also performed at children’s museums and senior centers, marches and rallies, schools and parties, and charitable benefits. Terrence is currently recording a CD of all original songs, to be released in 2026.
Terrence was raised in a large Sicilian & Irish-American family with nine siblings and two parents—all of whom were early musical influences. The days were bookmarked by a mom who played joyful records to wake everyone up and a dad who sang the kids to sleep with full sets of folk songs, sea shanties, Irish drinking songs, and occasional lullabies, with harmonica accompaniment. The rousing music overtook any attempts to sleep. Later influences were Pete Seger, The Clancy Brothers, Marvin Gaye & Stevie Wonder, Gil Scott-Heron & Phil Ochs, Bob Dylan & Joan Baez, John Prine & Tracy Chapman, and so many others. An older sister was Terrence’s first guitar teacher, just before heading off to college.
Terrence’s songwriting draws from an unconventional life path, growing up gay and non-binary, working in factories and restaurants, delivering mail and pumping gas, living in rural and urban areas, working as a community organizer in the coalfields of Appalachia, being a single parent to an awesome son, and being a lifelong racial and social justice activist and educator. Terrence approaches songwriting and musical performances as a vehicle for making connections, building community, sharing stories, and lifting joy.
Port Town
Port Town is the acoustic duo of George and Liz — a harmony-driven pair who’ve been making music together for more than a decade. Their sound blends heartfelt originals with hand-picked covers, creating a warm, thoughtful atmosphere wherever they play.
George brings a background in a cappella performance, while Liz grew up in a deeply musical family and plays everything from cello and ukulele to clarinet and guitar. Together, they share an easy chemistry on stage and a genuine love of connecting with audiences.
Based just outside Chicago, they balance music and life with their three kids — and bring that same sense of joy, authenticity, and connection to every performance.
If you can’t join us in person, you can still tune in virtually to catch the show! Make your donation HERE to Terrence and Port Town. Visit www.twowaystreet.org for more information.
