On Friday, November 13, 2026 Two Way Street Coffee House Friday Night Concert Series presents a Local Artist Showcase featuring Brandon Reisdorf and The Heavy Hors D'Oeuvres.

TWO ARTISTS. TWO DISTINCT SOUNDS. ONE GREAT NIGHT.

Two Way Street Coffee House’s Friday Night Concert Series continues with another Local Artist Showcase, celebrating the creativity and diversity of original music being made right here in the Chicago area.

Brandon Reisdorf brings thoughtful folk-rock songwriting that blends dark humor, sharp social observations, and heartfelt storytelling. The Heavy Hors D’Oeuvres offer a lively, all-acoustic mix of Americana inspired by Cajun and zydeco traditions, with an emphasis on musical collaboration and good old-fashioned fun.

Together, they offer an evening of original songs, engaging performances, and two very different musical perspectives that showcase the depth and variety of our local music community.

Doors open at 7:30 p.m.
Concert begins at 8:00 p.m.

Suggested Donation: $10
Cash or PayPal accepted.

Unable to join us in person? The concert will also be livestreamed on our website, Facebook page, and YouTube channel.

ABOUT THE ARTISTS

Brandon Reisdorf

Northern Illinois folk-rock songwriter Brandon Reisdorf writes with a poet’s eye, a bleeding heart, and a willingness to find humor even when the subject matter gets heavy. His songs weave together sharp protest, quiet grief, current events, and the frustrations of everyday life, drawing inspiration from writers including John Prine, Kris Kristofferson, Blaze Foley, Townes Van Zandt, and Phil Ochs.

A multi-instrumentalist and in-demand studio musician, Brandon performs on violin and fiddle, mandolin, guitar, and banjo. He fronts the Brandon Reisdorf Quartet and regularly performs with Chicago-area acts including The Illegal Smiles, Aaron Kelly Band, Coyote Riot, Miles Over Mountains, and Pete Jive.

His debut album, Political Songs for Political People, was released in 2020, and he is currently preparing a new collection of original songs.

The Heavy Hors D'Oeuvres

The Heavy Hors D’Oeuvres are a Chicago acoustic trio born from singer-songwriter Andrew Robert Palmer’s post-pandemic desire to make music with other people again. Joined by Shelly Baldridge on violin and vocals and Charlie Ford on double bass, Palmer envisioned an all-acoustic band inspired by the energy and communal spirit of Cajun and zydeco music.

The result is a lively blend of Americana, folk, roots rock, and acoustic music built around energetic performances, storytelling, and connection. Rather than returning to the isolation of writing and recording alone, the band puts the immediate joy of playing together at the center of the project.

Their 2025 debut recording captures that philosophy by recording the trio live in the studio—three musicians making, as one of their inspirations puts it, “music you can still play when the power goes out.”
