On Friday, October 25, 2024 Two Way Street Coffee House Friday Night Concert Series presents Steve Madewell.
“Steve Madewell performed music that filled the stage with original storytelling lyrics and a toe-tapping guitar. He
launched the audience on a musical journey that inspires me to care for our planet and be grateful for everyone in it.”
Saundra McBrearty OV Specialist, Preservation Parks Steve Madewell creates and performs captivating songs with music and lyrics that blend and convey a wide range of emotions. From subtle humor to heartfelt loss, each performance is an emotional journey.
Music and nature are two major influences that have shaped him. Steve enjoyed a remarkable career preserving open space and developing regional parks across Ohio yet music has always been an integral part of his life. He has maintained a very active performance schedule since he began singing and playing early in his teens.
Steve has played a variety of venues ranging from arena to home concerts and has been the supporting act for many national touring musicians including: Leon Russel, John Prine, Doc Watson, NewGrass Revival, Jonathan Edwards, John Sebastian, Richard Shindell, and many others.
When Steve began writing, recording, and performing original material, he found he had a wealth of inspiration to draw from. He has worked in the construction trades, as a farm hand, a fishing guide, a park ranger, a naturalist, a writer, as a fund raiser, and a public official. He has traveled extensively, lobbied for both federal and state legislation, but during all of these experiences, he has always been a singer.
Steve has recorded three albums:
Rivers and Trails, Arrow Creek, and his most recent project, Hometown Blues.
Hometown Blues was ranked 15th on the Folk Alliance International Folk Radio Play Charts
in April 2022. The record was a top 5 for the NACC, and was a top one under Album in
Acoustic Outpost, charting for 8 weeks with a peak of #2.
He is actively engaged in new several recording projects.
Hometown Blues was listed as a “Favorite Forty” for 2022 by Acoustic Revival Radio, WWSP
Stevens Point, WI.
If you can’t join us in person, you can still tune in virtually to catch the show! Make your donation HERE to Steve Madewell. Visit www.twowaystreet.org for more information.
