TWO WAY STREET COFFEE HOUSE AT THE FOX VALLEY FOLK FESTIVAL!

Two songwriters. Two voices. One very special song swap.

Two Way Street Coffee House is excited to bring Lisa Medina and Adela Skowronski to the 50th Annual Fox Valley Folk Music & Storytelling Festival for a special Labor Day Monday double feature!

Lisa and Adela have shared the stage before, and the musical connection between them is continuing to grow.  Now they’ll bring that friendship and creative chemistry to the festival for two performances built around one of our favorite folk traditions: the song swap.

Catch them Monday, September 7 at Wheeler Park in Geneva:

11:00–11:30 a.m.

Main Stage — Lisa Medina & Adela Skowronski open the Main Stage with a special song-swap set.

2:00–3:00 p.m.

Two Way Street Favorites — A full hour of songs, stories, conversation and musical back-and-forth as Lisa and Adela take turns sharing their songs and inspirations.

Lisa Medina brings contemporary folk songwriting with a flavorful hint of Latin rhythm and spice. Her musical journey has taken her from theater and church choirs to duos, bands and a Grammy-nominated Latin jazz big band, with performances at venues including the Chicago Jazz Festival, Park West, Old Town School of Folk Music, Adler Planetarium and Wrigley Field. After a decade focused on raising her children, Lisa returned to songwriting during the pandemic, finding a renewed creative voice in the music she made with her family.

Cellist and folk-pop artist Adela Skowronski returned to songwriting after a six-year break following college and the beginning of her radio career. Her sophomore album, Words of Love, explores the many layers of love and the idea that love is a journey rather than a destination. Adela recently appeared at Two Way Street Coffee House as part of our Local Artist Showcase, and we’re thrilled to have her back — this time alongside Lisa for a very special festival pairing.

Come hear where two artists meet in the middle.

Join us Labor Day Monday at the 50th Annual Fox Valley Folk Music & Storytelling Festival, September 6–7 at Wheeler Park in Geneva.
